I have been searching off and on for an aluminum winch bumper for my '24 350. I always end up in a circle of death using any of the search engines. Any ideas or links to share? Thanks
ICI has a nice aluminum winch bumper. Build quality, welds, back braces, and powder coating are all excellent. Unfortunately the ICI bumper has four light pod spots, so you will likely want to purchase four extra lights too. They have a matching aluminum rear bumper too.
I had looked at Buckstop too, and liked their bumpers a lot, they look really good. When I finally decided to purchase, Buckstop no longer offered a matching rear bumper in aluminum.
@nitebreeze; Couldnt find the wieight of the ICI AL front- not sure if you're choosing aluminum for weight savings?
If you want to consider something from 3/16' steel, that has good approach angles, better looking design and function- @ #155lbs this bumper is custom made to a few different options: Superduty Modular Winch BumperDissent Offroad- Ive got his one of his bumpers on different truck now for 9 years - and its very well made.

that is what I’m looking for- thanks for your input. Yes, aluminum bumper for weight savings, but this steel bumper ticks all the boxes and it looks good, as if it were made for the truck, instead of an afterthought for any generic truck. It’s only about 40 lbs heavier than the stock bumper. I’ve bookmarked it for the future. I really like the Expedition One line of bumpers but they are god awful heavy. My old truck had about 500 lbs of bumpers & sliders- I’ll not do that again.
I was looking at aluminum bumpers for both reduced weight and durability. I like some of the steel winch bumpers a lot, but not the extra weight of steel. I was figuring not just the extra bumper weight, but also an additional hundred pounds more added weight from the heavy winch cradle and winch weight. ICI came closest to best for me.
Is this for looks or function? Winching aluminum is asking for trouble, I'd think twice. This one ripped at the mounts winching out of mud. Winching forces can exceed vehicle weight by several times. If it's for looks, nothing wrong with that. Game on.
The ICI bumper winch cradle is heavy steel, and the welds look good, and each side has four bolts through the top of each frame, and two bolts through the side of each frame, all using existing frame holes, and the winch mounts bottom forward so no torque stress on the winch mount bolts. The ICI winch cradle seems good as much as I can tell. The aluminum bumper is mounted to the frame using different brackets ( isolated to deter galvanic corrosion). I hope my winch is only for looks though, and if I need the winch, hopefully the winch pull is for another stuck vehicle. With this winch so far I only used the winch to pull a small tree stump. I have had my vehicles stuck many times, but never yet and hopefully never ever bad enough to break the winch off.

Ah a hybrid bumper of steel and aluminum. That makes a lot of sense.

well, I’d never use an aluminum winch plate, otherwise ya, the pulling force would rip it up soundly, unless you use an unobtanium aluminum alloy plate, which would cost more that the bumper.

Yeah for sure - it’s a good design and Ben ( owner @ Dissent) designs a very stout bumper. I believe they’re all made to order so if you decide to go that route plan ahead for lead times.
