The first thing I did after I bought my 1970 F100 2wd was remove the fuel tank from inside the cab. I added a Holley Sniper to the 390 with a fuel cell in the truck bed. I had an Holley fuel pump that was so loud, that is all you could hear was the drone of that stupid fuel pump. Killed two birds with one stone, I bought a fuel tank with fuel pump assembly for a 1995 ford f150 and made it fit, a lot of work, but worth it. When I first fired her up, I could not hear the fuel pump, so I thought I had wired it incorrectly, no, it is super quiet.

Nice! I'm curious to see what you're going to do with the fuel filler, as I'm going to be doing almost the same exact thing with my '68 F250.
I had (past tense) a '95 F150 that I parted-out, but I cut-out the fuel filler doors before scrapping out the bed, and I'm thinking of using them somehow....
I originally intended to have it come out above the frame in the wheel well, but it took forever to put gas in it. Ended up cutting a 5" square hole in the box and will be installing a door with truck bed floor material.

Looks nice but I hope that pump doesn't ever fail...looks like it will be hard to drop the tank with the bed on the truck. Can you get to the bolts that are holding it in place with the bed on?
My truck is a camper special and it used to have a second tank right where that one is mounted. It old and rusted/leaking so it isn't there anymore. Glad to know one from a '95 will fit!
The gas tank straps are bolted to the side of frame on the drivers side, so I don't think dropping the tank would be a problem, but very keen observation.
