I went to the ford dealership and they said the front axle main seal is part: 3C084
4B413 which is beside it is a bearing.
They said don't bother with the bearing housing.
AppleFord gave you that info in post #9. Bummer that parts for a 2000 are now obsolete. Kind of glad that I've picked up parts that I know I'll need eventually, but don't need at the moment.
Interesting problem, blown up from a simple leak. You won't know what you need until you get in there. Shouldn't be too difficult to get a look. These guys gave you all of the knowledge you need to solve the problem. Good luck.

I'm not saying this to get you to buy parts but to make sure you're prepared for the possibility that you will need the tube and bearing.
@manicmechanic007 appears to be a mechanic who has repeated experience with that seal/bearing/tube with the bearing taking out the seal and damaging the seal. You might get lucky and just need a seal but don't be surprised if you need the whole works.

Bearing 4B413 is obsolete as per ford dealer.
They told me to look for aftermarket replacement.
Apple Ford is a Ford dealer and I've been in Ford parts for 30 years between four dealerships. That bearing is most certainly not discontinued. We have three in stock. Ford has 550 in our local depot and I see 15 other depots around the country with between 130 and 400 on hand to supply facing dealerships.

This rep at the dealer I go to sounds like he plays aloof.
Can they send this to Canada ?
The guys at the parts counter are hired by the dealership owners, or shop managers. Nothing to do with Ford Motor Company, I think. If they want quality they pay for quality. If they want to save pennies they hire the kid out of high school. You can't blame the kid if he can't find the parts. Blame the guy that hired him but didn't train him.
If there's another dealer in your area try them. I used to drive an extra ten miles to a Nissan dealer after I went to the one that was close one Saturday morning and the guy running the shop blew a bunch of hangover breath on me as he tried to sell me a bunch of service I didn't need.
Also, if they come back with a high price tell them that you can get it for a lower price online but would like to buy from them. Many dealerships will price match to get the sale. They hike the prices because they know that many people will just pay it.
I just went through all of the above while trying to get a Ford part. Took some work but I finally got it.
I think the only thing discontinued is the housing
Even the housing should be available from 6 States or a Spicer / Dana supplier
Agree with using "good" junkyard parts
Many 4x4's around here get their 4x4 used very little, maybe a few days a year in winter, many never get put into 4x4 or see any off-road driving at all
I could get everything you need from a junkyard around here for 60 bucks or so and be done with it

Our obsolete supplier has 14 of those tube/housings on hand, Vintage Parts in Wisconsin. You might have heard of them? Really good company to have access to as they get all their inventory directly from the manufacturers when an item is discontinued.
Might to aftermarket because of shipping/customs issues.
With RA the shipping, duties and taxes are already prepaid and the product is at the door in Canada....never had a problem or surprises.
I don't know what kind of brokerage fees and duties would apply by buying stuff shipped by businesses that might not be set up the same as RA.
Thanks for the info about a source for obsolete parts. That is very good to know.
If I was the OP I'd figure out what's wrong first. I had two leaking seals on my 2000, the rear diff pinion seal and the engine rear main, with only about 130,000 miles on them. The seals do harden and leak with just time and heat cycles. Might find that a simple seal replacement is all that's needed.
Looks like a guy on his back under the truck could easily just reach up and give the shaft a shake and know if the bearing is loose. Also looks pretty easy to put back together with the bad parts if it turns out a housing is needed. Might be time to take some action.
p.s. honestly, I'm just curious about the extent of the damage at this point. Looking back at the posts, it could be just a leaking valve cover gasket. Can't tell.
