ABS light on -Will this leave a code?

ABS light on -Will this leave a code?
Well, it finally happened... 73,000 miles without a problem and now my ABS light is on. (I have the rear wheel ABS, NOT 4 wheel)
Does anybody know, will this leave a code I can use to determine the problem component?
This is on a 2000 F-250 SuperDuty with the 5.4. (<--don't know if that makes any difference or not.)

Take your rear diff sensor out an clean it,usually gets sludge on it !
You could chk for codes.
The rabs unit itself can go bad! chk sensor first on top of rear diff though!

As soon as I can find my service CD (in the process of moving) I'll go out and try cleaning the little bugger...

ABS light on -Will this leave a code?
Well, I stopped by my friendly Ford dealer and the parts guy knew exactly what I was looking for and told me "we sell a lot of these.." Got home, pulled the old sensor out and inserted the new one, and everything is back to normal... 
Of course I went out last night, pulled it, cleaned the sludge off... yeah, that didn't work... Worst part about the whole thing... it's colder tonight than it was last night!
