2019 F250 Lariat Powerstroke. 18” wheels covered with 285/75 Toyo AT 3’s. Carli Commuter system with Fox 2.0’s on all four corners. Currently running 65psi front and rear, average MPG is around 19, and yes she has had the weight loss surgery. Love my truck but still rides somewhat like a covered wagon…lol. I’m not looking for a Cadillac ride but would like a little smoother. Recommendation on tire pressure, and will lowering affect the mpg?
Scale the truck...
Note front and back axle weights.
Consult the tire Manufactures Pressure vs axle or tire weight.
Air tires to tire manufacture pressure.
Enjoy the smoother ride.
Enjoy the longest life of the tire with proper rotations.
Run a tire designed for highway use for best MPG.
Maintain proper truck system maintenance according to the truck manufactures guide as well as component manufactures guide.
Learn to drive for economy... those two pedals at your feet are not your friends.
You drive a truck... If you want MPG get a 10 speed bike or suck it up.. those are your only other options.
Unless you are carrying a lot of weight you can back off the pressure and see what happens. I'd drop it to 60psi and give it a try. Then go to 55 psi and see. If you can chalk the tire and check the contact patch. you can see if you are overinflated for the load you have.
What is the majority of your driving..? Freeway speeds, around town puttering, country roads? On my 02 F350 CC/4x/DRW I run F 45-50 in winter, 55 in summer, R 40-45 in winter, 55 summer, and top them to 65 if towing.
~*disclaimer*~ YRMV, always follow tire manf. guidelines and all that... stuff
None of my trucks are running "correct" pressures, my choice, and yes, my liability and all that yadda, yadda...
I adjust mine to what works for what I'm using the truck for, my dually above, my '00 Ex, 45F/40R rides great, when I bought my 97 F350 CC/7.3/4x/ZF5 the guy had all 4 tires at 85psi, all 4 shocks on stiffest setting, thing rode like a rock, which is big reason he was having trouble selling it I believe, I drove about a mile away after I bought it, dropped fronts to 50, rears to 40, dropped all shocks to 1 and it was amazing.
Unfortunately, on my '22 F550 with the 19.5's I can't drop them down.
Depending on your majority driving, play with the psi, I def wouldn't run 65psi all the time, drop the F's to 55, rears to 45, see how it is, watch how your tires wear and adjust..

I swapped the snow plow front panel for the Tremor front panel and lost 1mpg. I added a Steel Tech grille guard and lost another mpg. I swapped out my worn Michelin all-season tires for Centenial MT 33x12.5x20 and lost another 1 mpg. No accessories added mpg. The Banks air filter system only added some noise.
