DRL Photocell???
I have been investigating on my DRL, because I thought it was malfunctioning. However, I am not so sure anymore.
A far as I understand, there must be a photcell switching on and off the main lights. ( when I switch main lights on by the switch on the mirror, and leave the switch at the dasch board off ) these are automatically switched off during the day. Well I think so.
I see there is sensors in the mirror itself, but by trying to block these, I can not manipulate to get the lights on again. But when the its getting darker outside, the lights come on again.
I would like to block the sensor as such that the full lights would stay on during bright day as well.
Please suggest.
It's possible to do what you want more easily. There is a fuse in main power distribution box (inside the engine compartment) which turns DRL feature on or off. As I remember, for 2-nd generation Explorer it is number 15. So just install the fuse (small 15A), turn the ignition on, and enjoy!
