So I'm currently trying to sell my Can-Am Maverick x3 and I have a guy offering to trade for his 2012 Lariat SCREW 6.5 Ecoboost. Photos look good. Pretty much everything but navigation. 142,000 miles. Ish. Says no timing issues, noises, etc. he's a couple states away, but I'm considering it. KBB valued it for about what I'm asking for the X3. I've had an eco previously in and expedition and was happy with it. Any recommendations on what else to ask before I commit to meeting? I've watched Ford tech mckulco videos and am aware of the Ecoboost potential for phasers, leaks, etc.
Got a text from the guy this morning... Offering cash along with trade. Not sure how much cash yet. May consider it if he can pony up enough... From what I've read, the truck with salvage title is worth $8,500 - $10k. If he can come up with $4k I may still get it... More to come.
Really would prefer cash as I am trying to buy a new Can-Am Maverick R... Getting a screaming deal from the local dealer.
I always hated taking a vheicle in trade. If the thing he's trading is worth so much, let him sell it and you get hassle-free cash. That being said, if the combination of cash plus trade is worth significantly more than you could get in pure cash, maybe that works.
