Ze engine is in. Now for all the fiddly bits.

Looks oh so much better without the giant a/c box or the giant hole it left.

Hood hasn't been on since last summer.

And a walk around.

So much rust.

Got the rust bucket fired up last weekend.

And got rolling around under his own power for the first time in a long time yesterday.

Went & changed out the balancer to an old one. The one on him was some weird aftermarket jobby that didn't have any timing marks at all & I think the wrong weight as well. Engine is a lot smoother now.

Now to do the exhaust, since I'd like to hear myself think. The so much more.

depending on the day, I'd probably question that. But right now, yeah, it is good to see him coming along.

Yesterday's progress.

Ended using a big piece of 14ga steel for the new floor. Turns out that the bed repair panels are 5 inches to short & I just didn't feel like splicing that much crap together. Well see if that holds true over the week, since I'm not really diging the look of flat steel. Might be better with the seat on it.

Got a bunch of weld through & rust converter primer on order & hopefully it'll be here by next weekend. Got some Raptor Liner in the cart too, but finances are saying that's gonna wait a bit.

Thinking about a soft top as well. Not sure if I can make a post 78-79 one work though.

Should hopefully have a long format work video up in a day or two. Editing turns out to be, not one of my favorite things to do.

The war on rust continues & it feels like its getting worse before it gets better.

These floor pans are garbage, highly do not recommend. Extremely poor fit & incorrect shape. But I'm cheap & they were free, so they're gonna fit eventually.

But fit they shall.

But the rain done started & I gave it up for the day.
