Electrical issue
I have a 1999 ford f250 with a 7.3 diesel I am I. The process of changing the cab and frame I just got it running and now I am having an issue where when it is running and I go to put it into four wheel drive all the gages stop working and the dome light and top brake light flash. I have checked all the grounds and all the sensors making sure it is grounded and everything is plugged in correctly I am at a loss as of this point and any suggestions would pe appreciated thanks

Guessing you have electronic shift on the fly. I would revisit the grounding. Does the 4wd engage and work when this happens?

No it is a manual shift

Possible that you have some wiring that gets pinched by the shift lever? Specifically the wiring the provide 4wd feedback to the dash panel.

I have been over that as well it also happened when the 4*4 lever wasn’t even on the truck yet because I took it out of 4*4 with a pair of pliers
