1998 Ford F150, 5.4L SuperCab with 6 1/2 ft bed. Been in my fleet coming up on 15 years now, ton of history with it and my wife, so no, the junkyard's not an option.
Trying to locate a frame for it. The rear section has rust-jacked itself into some damage in the front section, and there's at least one fist sized hole in the front box section. That, I could plate and such. But I'd almost rather replace the frame than scab things together. This thing is the pride and joy of the household - doing it right is a must. Were there differences in the 99-03 frames over the 97-98 ones? Seems I'm finding plenty of those, not so much on the 98. Aside from the obvious condition issues, are there other things to look for on these frames//trucks that could be long term concerns? I've heard a SuperCrew frame could work - is there truth to that? I'm handy with cars and older Ford trucks, just not all the specific nuances of these trucks especially when it comes to this kind of work.
