I went to look at a 04 f350 today. After driving it I noticed coolant coming from the degas bottle. I heard that if it has coolant coming from the bottle you can squeeze the upper radiator hose to see if there is pressure building up from a blown head gasket. The hose was soft. Could the bottle just have been over filled? I forgot to see the level.
Overfilled, bad cap, or bad bottle sealing surface.
Anyone looking at a used truck needs a pressure gauge that can be tied into the radiator degass hose. If it leaked with minimal pressure and a good level, you know it the cap or bottle, and go from there.
