Question 5.0 coolant drain & fill bleed procedure?

Is there any way to burp/bleed the coolant system on a 2013 F-150 5.0, like on the 6.2L, or is it really just; top off, run at 3.5k for 30 sec. shut down, do again, etc.? Thanks!

thats exactly how i did it on my 2014 after changing the water pump i had no heat and did that same procedure about 5 or 6 times and it does work. The pump is quicker but i try to get by with what i have.

The way I do it as well as most Ford dealers, is to use a vacuum pump with coolant degas bottle adapter.

I got it done with zero drama. Just did 3 drain and fills and believe we got nearly all of the old out. The flow into the degas bottle under RPM is impressive, even prior to thermostat opening, so you can see the circulation and color change. In the 6.2 I didn't get nearly as much old coolant out for the same effort, and I had to burp it each time. The one thing I did notice in the 5.0 was that I had to top it off 3 times after various trips because of small air pockets. You can hear them in the heatercore until they're all gone.
