yeah i would like to except mine is just a 2wd right now, so the conversion would be very extensive and expensive. But shoot maybe i should buy it and let it sit for a year or two and then do it. after i have a real job.

sure ttb is great for the weekend warrior but if you want reliability over 35" tires this isn't your axle...or if you want hard core flexing..they flex very well but everyone that has alot of down travel has limiting straps on at least the passenger side housing because that is the first ujoint to let go...the steering setup is bad because it puts all the force on one joint....and you cannot go to a hydraulic steering without total fab since no one has come up with this yet......other than that i have ran 35"s with no probs yet and i am in the mud usally every weekend and also get a little air with it...

also i forgot...screw the five lug conversion for a dana 60.....you aren't keeping the stock 8.8 or 9" in the rear if you have a real reason to get rid of the TTB. the easiest upgrade for the rear is a 10.25"... and it is 8 lug....no reason for a d60 unless you are running insane horsepower or just geared that low for rockcrawling

around here, the sterling axle much more prefered over the dana 60FF. shure the sterling has weaker pinon bearings, but they are a more sterdier axle that will snapp less axles.

I gave the whole TTB setup (front TTB, Rancho 4" lift, all hardware) to my buddy who made me custom SAS front shock mounts. He put the lift on his 95F1504x4.

I like the solid front axles. But you know what? I have 200,000 miles on my TTB Bronco. If I were going to all that trouble. . . I would build an 1978 or 79 Big Bronco up for a dedicated trail rig and use the TTB thing for a daily drive/all around rig. I cringe at the canibalization of all those magnminous 78 & 79 big Bronco's. They are dwindling and will someday be worth a lot. Canibalize a long bed F series if you must.

I agree, try to get the axle out of a fullsize truck or if it's under a bronco, tryto gt the whole thing and make it your rig. At a local yard there was a '79 bronco that I watched them place. As soon as I saw it I went to the owner and asked him what he wanted for the whole thing. He was willing to sell it to me for $150 with a salvage title. I told him I'd be back in an hour with the money, he agreed, but by the time I'd come back someone had already snagged both of the axles from underneath it No axles= no way for me to tow that thing . I was willing to stop my 4x4 conversion and divert all of my funds into that '79 because they're just so cool. Oh well, i got the 205 out of it, so a little piece of that bronco lives on.
