Front axel swap

1986 bullnose f-350 dually 4 speed. Can I use the front axel from a brick nose or obs? And is there a certain transfer case that i need to use? I’m pretty new to this stuff, really only doing this so I can get a lift kit.

You can use parts from a 1987 thru 1998. They used the basic same frame layout as the 1980 thru 86 f250/f350. Since you have a 2wd, you will have to do some modifications to the very front of the frame to ulitize the stock leaf spring shackles. And you will have to drill some holes for the rear spring mount. Instead of doing that, some people use a kit like this one, and get some lift out of it at the same time.

If you keep reading down the page in the link, you will see that kit can be used with trucks down to 1985. There are other people that make shackle reversal kits that also can be used to swap your front axle in place.

So if i use this kit i can add leaf springs to the front? Does it delete the coils and leave the shocks?

Yes. You might want to remove the old coil spring pockets, but this kit allows you to install leaf springs in the front.

You might want to do a web search on sky manufacturing shackle reversal kit install, and Ford truck front shackle reversal to see what info you can find on it.
