Bigger injectors, MAF, and TB, chip etc. are all upgrades. They are also not required. If you want to maximize the potential of the SC, then you add them in. I can get a 90mm Lightning maf for under 153 dollars before shipping. I think the injectors were gonna cost me under 245 dollars. The difference in the ECU and chip can be a couple of things. You can have a "toned down" burn on a chip, and an aggressive one. With an ECU reflash, there is no changing between the two. *From what I understand.
The chip is also much more economical compared to a good dyno tuned ecu flash. Talking close to 900 dollars after all said and done.
Yeah, you're right about the EEC flash and chip. I just meant to say that they both basically have the same purpose, to make sure your computer knows what's going on in your engine. Chips are more economical, but nothing beats a good dynotune for reliability and maximum performance. Plus you get to see exactly how much power you're putting to the wheels 900 bucks is WAAYY too much for a dynotune!
When are you supposed to be getting this kit? And how soon do you hope to have it installed and running? I hope it all goes well for you, but as we all know when it comes to our vehicles even the simplest things can turn into a freakin nightmare! It took me 2 hours to swap a new rear end into my car, but it took me 2 days to install my MAC CAI
LoL> I completely agreee with you V6. I ordered it 2 weeks ago and it is being finished today (thank god). I was anticipating it being here Friday, but that obviously wont happen. So it should arrive here the 19, 20, or 21st of Dec. Unfortunately, my leave starts on the 29th, and I will be in LA by the end of the day. So, the plan is to have it to my door (on hold) on the 5th. Install should be the following weekend. Hopefully no longer than that.
That's cool man, just remember to have the essential tools necessary for the install...alcohol, some medium and small sized metal things that make a lot of noise when you throw them, and a few friends to cuss at Just kidding man...good luck with it
I will, I asked for a 264 (?) piece tool set for Xmas, 2 floor jacks, and 4 jack stands, all 3 ton, along with some other stuff. Hopefully the install will go smooth. I will have the guy I bought it from on Cell if I run into any problems. I will dyno shortly after that, and take it to the strip the following weekend. It should be a cool month of January for me.
Garrett, I'm happy for you man! I soooooo envy your truck right now! I'd get a rise just driving it like it is much less with an SC. Good luck Home DAWG!
LoL Yes, install is all me with the help of a few redneck boys from Alabama who have SCed Cobras. It should be good times. All I am paying for them to be there is 2 cases of Bud. LoL. Cheap labor!
Joe, any time you are in the area, you are most welcome to a test drive...after you sign the waiver of course...LoL.
