An opportunity to grab a rebuilt transmission has popped up. I'm thinking of grabbing it as a backup for my 66 F250. It has this tag on it. The owner says it's a 1965 C-O-M. Can anyone confirm?
That should be a "Green Dot" transmission, with the shift quadrant like so:
PRN.DL
IIRC, the D is in a green dot.
The . starts you in 2nd gear.
Your truck, as OEM, should have the same quadrant.
However, the shift arm on the transmission may be the reverse of your truck. Cars point up, trucks down.
Eyeball that before you spin the wrenches.
I think you can reverse the shift arm but it may require valve body removal.
Thanks, I'll check that out tomorrow. I do have a green dot trans right now. I wish I could find a gear position indicator for it but that's another issue.
