New fuel sending unit problems
I have a 1980 f100, fuel sending unit was always reading empty. I put a new one in( look identical) and is reading full with about 5 gallons of fuel in it. Pretty sure it’s not stuck cause it read empty when the tank was empty. Needing some help figuring out this problem. Also when tank is full gauge reads over the F mark and I haven’t started truck just turned key if maybe I need to run it to get an accurate reading. Anything will help thank you. You will have to take it back out, hook it up temporarily, and swing the unit by your hand and watch the gauge. It may need to be tweaked, the arm can be bent to make it read closer. More than likely you are the victim of buying China junk. It's hard to avoid lately.
