I have been using this tool when ever I rotate tires. its a sleeve that goes over the lug , then you mount your tires....theory of operation is that it helps center your tires. moreso as the thingy on the hub centric hubs age (those lips) and the tires can move up and down and side to side....so when you mount them...possible to mount off center. not a problem with new hubs since the centering thingy should be enough....in theory.
so I use the tool to mount the tires , and by the next tire rotating the tires are not center anymore....the guide pins dont go in like they did when I installed the tires with the guide pins. so over time..the tires move out of center.
this time around....Im going to cut the tool into sections...and leave the spacer installed....thinking the wheels cant move out of center with the spacers in. one cut 1/3 on one end and trim the remaining 2/3rds should cover a front and a rear dually. the tools says use three..but this time Im going to use 4. so I need 3 packs for my 10 bolt wheels.
I know this tool works because I can do 70 easy with no vibration after using the tool to mount the wheels.....and I know the wheels move over time because after a few thousand miles I pickup a slight vibration at about 65. I have 37/s on 22.5 rims and no one can balance them......they have beads in them and I have balancing wheels on all the axles.
right now the tool is avail for large trucks and f-450/550. dont know if the f-450/660 tool will work on 250/350 srw or 350drw.
this is what happens when you retire....you have time to try different gimmick stuff and find rationale to justify it works.
I like the idea of this. And should probably trust your experience and order a set for my truck.

Am I gathering this right that these items are basically turning the wheels from hub-centric to lug-centric without using a tapered style lug nut?
before tightening…the wheels can move to various positions and once you tighten the lug nuts your wheels are off center….being hub centric does not result in 100% center mounted wheel.
