Just curious, do you like that better than Amsoil, and why??
Never used Amsoil. Been using Schaeffer's for years. Kind of grew up with it since my dad and grandpa also used it. Just don't try to run Schaeffer's to break-in a new motor - the rings won't seat
Not trying to call you out, but, it never ceases to amaze me that people want to save a few dollars on the life blood of a $20K diesel engine........... and will use something that could be of unknown quality.
Yes, and pay nearly 100% more money for it too. Blows my mind.
To the OP: Go watch some videos that tribologists are putting out these days. It'll be interesting to you. There are big differences between CJ and CK oils first of all. Secondly not all oils protect the same and newer API rating is NOT always better. Third why would you spend twice the money for one of these "boutique" oils when there are guys with 700k on oil off the shelf at Walmart?
I just saw another video with Lake Speed Jr. last week and he was talking about how Delo protected test engines better than Rotella despite the numbers on paper that guys always look for not being as impressive. I'm running Valvoline Premium Blue and I pay $75 for THREE gallons of it.
I figure if it's on the approved list, there won't be any warranty issues to get messed around with. Rotella T6 5w40 is just down the road from me at $26.99/gallon regular price and always seems to be in stock. Cheap, available, and approved makes it an easy choice for me.
