Lockable Bed Tie-downs

My ‘22 F250 FX4 XLT has lockable tie-downs. I’m curious if this is standard equipment and what is the reason for their being lockable?

Standard equipment on most models and they lock to prevent theft. The bases can be used for standard e track accessories also.

Thanks for reply. Understand standard equipment but how does it work to prevent theft? Keeps a thief with a screw driver from removing cleats? How does it work together with e-track?

some e track accessories work with the same slot.

The key is widely available and provides minimal security from theft.

Nobody will ever steal those tie downs. If you lost the key, write the number down that's stamped on the lock cylinder, take it to the local key and lock shop, and they will make you a new one.
