Additional Lights with LED Truck

I have a 2024 Premium XLT, so most of my exterior lights are already LED. I would like to add these two light kits to the truck:My concern is that the installation instructions suggest tapping the existing running lights wires, which I don't really like all that much to start with, and I'm concerned this might even be more of a bad idea if I already have LED running lights.

Is my concern overblown, or is there a better way?

Wire them to an upfitter switch. The wires are right there behind the passenger battery. You can just leave the switch on all the time, they are all key-on power.

Has that changed since 23? I added a module to strobe the C rings on the headlights that I operate with an upfitter. For some reason I seem to recall that the 2 switches at the right end of the upfitter row were hot all the time. It’s been over a year since I installed it. Maybe I’m not recalling all the details correctly.
I do know that I don’t need key on to operate the strobes.

I had considered this. I'd prefer the additional running lights to be on with the headlights, but there's worse things than them just being on all the time.

I've read the lights for the side grill fail frequently, it might be here or another forum, but seems like it might be a weak component? EDIT: They do have a plug and play harness so you don't have to tap. I would use that.
