Hi, I'm having problems with my 2019 F250 diesel. Apparently the BCM is bad again. In March of 2024 sitting in the driveway my alarm goes off for no reason, lights act up, running boards not reacting, parking brake chime on when it was disengaged etc... Ford diagnosed bad BCM, replaced under my extended warranty.
February 2025 I run a quick errand, get back in truck, restart, mile up the road accessories/radio go out. Get message that transmission is not in park. I stop a few minutes later and can't restart, tried disconnecting/reconnecting batteries, and all I get is lights acting like strobes. Towed into Ford.
Several days later I'm told batteries are bad, replace both and it takes a couple more days before they figured out the BCM was bad, tell me it's $6800 and not covered because it's water damage that's been going on for awhile and they noticed that the windshield was replaced. After 2 visits from the windshield company Ford could not produce a leak from the windshield. Ford asks for $400 so they can further look into source of water. Now they allegedly found a gasket or grommet where the water probably came in and they don't want to cover the repair. They claim water intrusion is not covered. The only modification I made to the the truck has been a bed cover. I haven't washed the engine bay, I haven't driven through deep puddles. This appears to be a engineering issue.
Are these trucks not meant to be in the rain?
Since Ford replaced the 1st BCM but didn't fix the problem shouldn't they bear some responsibility for not diagnosing the problem?
Anyone else having problems with water intrusion in the passenger front area? I did find one account of someone who said his BCM water issue was related to the fresh air vent, and another with reference to condensation from ac drain line.

I've never had water issues but then I live in the desert.
If you have a good service writer they should be able to reopen the original claim and add the current problem to it. Might be worth a visit to talk with him about it.
This is known issue since 2008, there’s a tab on the BCM that sticks through the A-pillar that could let water in, windshield, HVAC unit, door wiring harness plug, antenna and firewall wiring harness boot are all other possibilities of water intrusion.

service guy I have right now is difficult to work with. Thursday afternoon he said to give him a day to see if ford would cover anything, i told him to let me know either way, 2 calls in yesterday and i haven't heard from him
Ifrythings, thanks for the pics and info, although they've told me it's $6800 out of my pocket to replace BCM and harness, they haven't told me how they will prevent it from happening again
Assuming your extended warranty is an actual Ford warranty, call them yourself to verify coverage. Plenty of shady dealers out there say it's denied because they make more money directly from you than from warranty repair. Specifically ask them why it's being denied this time yet covered previously. Let them tell you the reason for denial...not you telling them.
