So this happen to my rearend...broken bolts on axle ring. Other then bullet to the head ...any advice.... can just those be replaced or whole rearend ? It's a 2004 e350 super duty van...it used to be an old news broadcast van
Differential specialty shop is where I would go. Get their estimate. Where I live you could be looking over 1k. Some guys in the States could sort it out for half that.
Everything can be fixed. Most don't know how to replace the parts or don't have the proper tools so they find a used complete rear. Also parts get expensive plus the labor so it may be cheaper to replace with a used rear. There is a sticker in the door opening and it will have an axle code or there should have been a tag on the rear itself. That will tell you the ratio and you can check used parts yards.
