Think I can finally move forward with this. I have a 01 with 350000+ miles on it. Plan to do some upgrades. It now has a 6.0 cooler 3-5” exhaust BTS transmission AFE air intake chipped . Sitting on the bench is a complete Mishimoto coolant system, regulated fuel system, fuel bowl delete, twin Bosch fuel pumps, 5/8 pickup, SS bellowed up pipes, Moroso oil pan, melling oil pump. Looking at Rosewood 200/30 hybrids, KC300xgen3 stg1 and pedestal delete. I would call it a daily driver. Pull a 4500 pound boat 5 times a year for 4-500 miles round trip. Use it for general truck work. My thoughts are with the hybrids I can have tunes made for general use and for when I feel like being a kid occasionally. I don’t race or pull or do burnouts etc. With the hybrids I wouldn’t have to change the HPOP. Was going to go with an Edge Insight CTS3 and Jelly tunes. Your opinion?
The list of big $$ parts you've got there, 2 or 3 of which I'd call unnecessary, but you don't want to have to mess with the hpop? That's a little like chroming out a Briggs and Stratton for the track. Yeah she'll look good but that's about all she'll do. The hpop is the heart, it's what makes it all possible. You can throw all the "best" parts at these rigs and line both bedsides with stickers, but if the hpop don't show up for work it's all just a pile of parts. Otherwise, yeah it otta work real nice.
I have been in contact with him and he said that I don’t need a new HPOP. That’s the advantage of hybrids. Have to do some research on the CTS3. I believe it does with the right sensors.
EGT and fuel psi cannot be read from the PCM so need dedicated sensors. And boy howdy are those numbers important.
I believe the CST3 can read trans temps and I'd recommend using it for that to get a real number. The dash trans temp gauge is calibrated to show normal until 230*. Which is ok for like 30 minutes but I prefer knowing the actual temp in real time.

it will, IF,
you buy the Diesel Street kit,
which provides a new cable and two sensors plus the EGT probe.
I have one.
Thanks for the advice. I thought it would if you buy the extra sensors. I don’t have a trans temp gauge on my dash. So I think I should get one also. Have a BTS trans but don’t want to damage it. Do you like your CTS3? Would you buy again? How do you have it mounted?

Absolutely, it is a tad expensive, but I don't have a whole gob of big gauges floating around on the A-Pillar, which blocks my view to the left.
Plus it has two more screens that you can Program to do anything you want, and in any design that you want. I flick to the other screens to see something that is not on the Main Screen that you saw here.
I bought a Pod, and gauges, and can't use them, because of the visibility issue.
So, I bought the CTS-3 and a year later, the Diesel Street Kit, which I have not installed due to "life issues" involving moving a farm from Utah to my home in Oklahoma.

The CTS can read the trans temp with no additional sensors even though it’s not displayed on the dash. The PCM still gets the info. My 01 does not have a dash gauge but I use the CTS for trans temp to display the PCM channel.
The CTS 3 can do just about everything now. You will need to figure out what additional sensors you will want to monitor; so you buy the right wiring kit.
I'm not sure what Edge's plans are but they are due for version 4 now. However i'm not sure they'll release it this year as they've recently brought out the Plus version which allows for custom tunes. Anyone with a CTS 3 can upgrade to the plus through an update. Most are running a Hydra anyway and don't have the need for the CTS plus, but it's an option.
If you haven't bought your Bosh pumps yet, you don't need 2 unless you want one for a backup. I run the new Bosch (would have to get the part number) but it easily handled my 250/100's with no issues Holds pressure rock solid full bore
Honestly it’s been a while since I bought the parts. When I bought parts from Strictly Diesel. Dennis said one pump would work depending on tuning and how I drive. He also said if I did the 5/8 pickup and lines now it would be much easier and cheaper than later if I go with 2 pumps. Will have to check when I get home. Please give me the part number for the new pump you are talking about.
This is the Bosch pump I ordered, I even talked to Dennis about it a while back and IIRC he's done testing with it. Maybe it wasn't available when you purchased yours, IDK
Bosch 0-580-464-200 Fuel Pump
actually, I purchased mine in Jan 2024 so IDK. It ran my 250/100's with zero-1psi drop max. I run my pump at 66-68psi
I used to run a fuel lab pump but it failed and I don't trust their reliability anymore, so i'm hoping the Bosch will hold up like they normally do.
