So, after I'd been here a little over a year, Abe had been here 10 times as long as me. Now, after another 10 years, he's only been here twice as long as me. How long until I catch up?
I just saw this today. I found it at the top of the page under announcements.
"We're excited to introduce the expansion of our Badge system! Along with existing badges like veteran statuses, you can now automatically unlock new badges by continuing to engage here on FTE. Whether it's by actively participating, from received Likes when the community values your contributions, or just stopping by daily to see what's new, we've got a badge for that.
Check out all the available badges on your Badges page, where you can also choose which unlocked badges to display alongside your posts. And stay tuned, more badges are on the way!"
And now I have a trophy! Hear that Bob Jones? I got a trophy so I am as good as you. But I had to lose a badge . I guess you're only allowed 4 at one time.
I have the Trophy badge too, and felt a need to get it into the display. LOL I still think the whole thing is pretty silly especially since we really don't know just how badges are "earned".
I haven't posted for quite a while, in early January I fell off a ladder taking down the Christmas decorations ,broke my right thumb and tore my left rotator cuff in 3 pieces, also tore a ligament so Ive had surgery and am now going to PT to regain use of my left arm which is a big issue since I'm left handed. I still have my 52 but am seriously thinking about selling it as I just dont use it like I used to.
Hope all of you are well. I'm interested in seeing these badges. I think I first signed on about 20 years ago.

Take care all stay off ladders!!
Sorry to hear about your fall, Dennis. I hope PT helps you.
We used to hang icicle lights on our spouting in the front of our house and our garage. It wasn't high. I could reach it standing on the highest step of an 8' step ladder. But we don't do it anymore and I'm glad. It got a little wobbly standing and reaching that high.
Thanks Abe, only ground decorations from now on, maybe a inflatable thing or something.
Thanks Tom, yes I got a "web" also and maybe some drywall screws of something to hold it together and they did a thing where they drew my blood and did the plasma therapy to it then reinjected it. Not sure if it helped or not.
This shoulder is the worst most painful injury I've ever had.All I know is I've slept in the recliner since January 2 and am not enjoying 2025 for many reasons.
i was in the recliner for 6 months.....and after going through the agony would not wish this level of pain on anyone......not even the blood sucking leech ex wife!!!
i had injured both rotator cuffs numerous times over 30 years. P.T. and time healed them though. the last time was something so stupid...that i had done probably 1000 times over a 20 year period. i was teaching my son in law and his friends how to mount and balance tires. he got the new tire mounted on the balancer, but could not understand my explaining on how to tighten the tire to the machine. so i said watch. grabbed the shaft behind the tire with left hand, than the crank/nut handle with right hand to spin it tight.
i turned it about 1/2 turn and heard a snap.... and woke up 2 hours later in the hospital. the boys said they heard what sounded like a pencil snapping and saw me drop like a sack of flour off the back of a truck. they caught me before i hit the floor and instantly dialed 911. later found out the police and an ambulance was around the corner and had me packed up and on the way to the hospital in under 4 minutes of passing out.
once awake they did cat scan and MRI. next day i was under the knife
Dennis, I'm sorry to hear about your accident and hope you make a good recovery. I'm sorry too to hear your truck isn't getting driven as much as it used to. I suggest you plan a trip to Abe's Truckstock this fall. It will give you something to look forward to and provide a goal for all the hard work involved with physical therapy. An adventure with your old truck might be just what you need to rekindle the relationship.
