What computer will work?
Needing a computer for my 91 f150 with 4.9 and 5 speed. Will a computer out of an automatic work, as long as it's for the 4.9?

Yes, but it will throw about 8 codes complaining that the trans is not talking to it. It won't set the CEL for those, however.

Well, actually it might work, depends on which Automatic.
E40D will not work.
C6 will work.

E40D will not work.


It will, with the caveats I stated above. Ive done it.

It will work with a piggy back chip installed, tell it it doesn't have an E4OD, no caveats.
