I just got me a '67 f-100. I need to run the VIN to find out what engine is in it. The block says 352, but I've been told it is a 390 and by someone else a 360. If anyone can run this VIN for me and get back to me I'd really appreciate it!!
I've seen a better VIN decoder on here before but I can't seem to find it. I would like to find out also everything else that a VIN decoder can tell me about my truck. All I know is it's a 2wd, original, not sure how many miles on it, 352 now, and I'd like to run the VIN and find out more about it.

Any ideas???
What are you talking about? That decoder does the whole VIN! If you are looking for the other stuff on the ID Plate (ie: color, axle code, etc) then there are other decoders for those numbers. But for the VIN the one posted is about as thorough as you can get. The VIN on these old trucks doesn't contain near the amount that modern VIN's do.
Originally posted by Alfetta159 What do you mean when you say "the block says 352"?
My air cleaner label says 360, my valve cover label says 390, and my VIN says 360 and I figured out by measuring the stroke that I have a 390.
But there's no label on the block.
On my engine block it has the numbers "352" on the front. Same as my friend's 352. However, just cuz it says "352" on it doesn't necessarily mean it's a 352...so I've been told. I was mistaken about the VIN I guess. I do want to find out the axle stuff and stuff like that...I'm still new to this stuff, and I'm still learning....bear with me guys
Your VIN shows a proper code for a 352 in 67. The last part of F10YRA44759 after the R(San Jose assembly plant), A44759 is the consecutive unit number which, in your case, means the truck was finished in early November, 1966. The other reference you saw was banned and I don't wan't to stir that up; however if you post the rest of the info in your door plate(in the same format), I'll try to answer your question according to my 67 shop manual, or you could find it on last link.
