Decoding Your Vin/data Plate

This website will take you to the Ford Customer Service help page. Fill out the blanks and submit it. In about 3-4 days you'll get an email telling you it's being completed, and I got mine back in about 10 days from the time I submitted it on the internet at the above emntioned website.
I also added all the information from my datat plate, which the decoded for me.
My data plate does not have a color code, but the D.S.O. they decoded told me it was originally black.
If nothing esle, I can frame it and keep it with my trucks info, just in case. Pretty neat and it is a free service from Ford.

Say, is it that the same as the old 999 reports? I got one for my truck a couple of years ago, neat thing to have. Good to know they have records of those old dso's as it's just a serialized number, no coding in it.
