motor mount ?

when i pulled the 400 out of my 79 bronco for rebuilding i failed to mark the motor mounts for left and right. and they fit ether way. so how do i decide which is left or right. thanks mudder trucker.

If they fit either way, what's the problem?
Seriously, go to the autoparts store and ask to see a motor mount. compare and your good to go.

the problem is that the tower bolt is set off center. so the mount will make the motor an inch or so forward or back. thanks mudder trucker.

Is one motor mount larger than the other? I've got a 460 and my drivers side motor mount is about 2" longer than the passengers side, so the motor sits a little off center, toward the passenger's side. This gives the motor enough room to clear the steering box. I think the 79 Bronco is the same set up. Don't know if this helps or not.

the mounts look simalar, except for the tower bolt which is about 1" off center. thanks mudder trucker.

The bolt goes toward the rear of engine. If you have Ford mounts they should have front wrote on them.

Can you see a part number on it?
An A signifies Right side
a B signifies the left side.
