Anyone with a PSD done the fluid and filter change that can tell me how many quarts of fluid it takes for the pan drop?
About all I am finding online is total capacity, and I am just doing the pan drop change.
One note for anyone else that may be changing theirs pretty soon, NAPA has a great deal on the ULV fluid on their monthly special, normally $17 a quart for the valvoline, and this month it is $6.99 a quart.
I ordered 12 and am hoping it will be enough, as I am adding an aluminum pan that holds 3.5 additional quarts over the stock pan.
I just did mine last month but I pulled the cooler lines and did a full exchange. That was almost 20 quarts but I may have let it run longer than needed.
I dropped mine, did a filter swap and added the PPE pan, which calls for an additional 8 quarts. With this pan and the new filter I added 16 quarts back.

Okay, thanks, that is what I needed.
So, this pan I am going to add is approximately 3.5 quarts increase, so the 12 quarts I have coming should cover it.
I wouldn't have done the aluminum pan, but got in on a prototype beta test for it and it gives me a drain plug for easier fluid changes in the future.

im gonna do mine this weekend and have 12 quarts waiting. Everything I read said it will take 10-12. Rock auto has the cheapest price shipped for me. Ordered 2 5qt jugs and 2 1qt bottles

12 quarts of valvoline ULV @6.99 per, total with tax and free shipping was $90.80 from NAPA.
I don't have a diesel but that doesn't affect the trans capacity. When the dealer replaced my pump seal they had to drop the pan and they replaced 11 quarts.

Two 5qt jugs of Motorcraft ULV at $24.99ea and two quarts at $5.24ea with tax plus shipping minus 5% discount is $75.45 from Rockauto. Or apples to apples 12qt at $5.24ea is $77.91 shipped.
I believe the general consensus is every 60,000 miles even though Ford says every 150,000.
My 1st one was done by the dealer at 28,000 for the early 2020 recall and I'm planning the next one at 87,500, which is my next oil change too.

Well, I sure missed out on that one.
Didn't come up in my searches, and nobody else was even close to that cheap on motorcraft.
Forgot to mention that you should replace the filter seal when doing a 10R140 filter change. It's not included with a new filter. Part# 7T4Z7Z302A. About $6 shipped from Rockauto. A little less on Amazon.
A couple of videos on the fluid/filter change have mentioned the seal, but said they didn't replace it because it was still in good shape.
I believe this is more of a bushing than a seal, and if it is not cracked or some other damage, I think it can be reused.
Had a similar deal on my RAM with the 68RFE trans, and in half a dozen filter changes, I never replaced the seal/bushing, and it was fine.
But, each to his own to decide.
