Ford 460 engine rebuild help

I have a 460 core that I’m planning on rebuilding, in doing some research I have found rebuild kits on Amazon and northernautoparts.com. Are these kits any good and do they come with connecting rods and valve train components? If not where would I find a kit that has all of it?

First thing you will want to do is find a machine shop that can do the machine work and not wait a year for an opening.
Then you want to talk to them as they may not do the work needed with parts they did not get and even more so if they dont screw it together and have a warranty.
You also need to talk to them as they will need to measure everything to see what parts are needed and have to be reconditioned like rods & crank.

When you say valve train what is it you are talking about?
Only time anything needs to be replaced it is during a valve job when the heads are reconditioned.
Depending on the cam kit it may come with new springs but they still need to be setup on the heads.
Rockers are not part of the cam kit and most of the time are reuses if they check out good.

As for Northenautoparts I can say as I have not bought motor parts in like 40+ years and that was a full motor that I had to screw together but was a custom built race motor.
Again talk to the machine shop what they will do / not do and what it may run. You may find it be cheaper to find a short block and have your heads rebuilt or a long block and just bolt on your intake / ccarb, manifolds, etc. and send that block you have as a core.

Can say enough to tell you to follow what Dave said, find a good machine shop.

https://eastwoodsautomachine.com/

That shop is old family friends that is the go to shop for most of CT and the surrounding area.
