Ok, I also have the same issue on my 98 Expy 128K miles. I have the most forward 2 crimps leaking and just noticed one of the rear ones (closest to the engine) starting to leak, no drips on the ground yet, the hose(s) are just wet. I took the advise of hose clamps but agree its temporary. Did the dealer call and yeap $185 plus $11 for the oil pressure sensor. What a bunch of crappo. Checked NAPA today, they dont carry it or have a replacement. Question for you, can you buy the "non" remote oil filter adapter like they have on 99 + models to replace a remote filter setup? I would think if they are interchangeable they have to be cheaper. Also does anyone think if I choose this method that performance or engine durability would be an issue?
In the meantime I will check the aftermarket remote filter setups.
Cut off the crimped on piece with a box knife or a dremel. Cut off the old hose, install new hose with hose clamps. $10.00 for the whole thing. The crimp on piece is just a clamp.
Take a measurement and have your local hydraulic line shop make up a set for you. I had a set made for my son's 442 for around 60.00. They were 10x better than the Transdapt ones and came with a union on both ends.
