Issue: Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit at least one of the following conditions:• General system performance/stability/intermittent system reboot
• Intermittent wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto function
• Phone related concerns with intermittent no audio or static
• Navigation/GPS related concerns through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Alexa function consistency and stability
• Charge Assist/Public Charging app inoperative (e-Transit only)
This may be due to a concern with the software in the APIM.
NOTE: The APIM software update that addresses the symptom listed in this bulletin may have been sent via a software update delivered OTA to connected vehicles that have automatic updates enabled through the center display screen. Enter the VIN in PTS and check the OTA Dashboard under the Connected Vehicle tab for OTA update history. If an update to the APIM has successfully completed recently and the customer is reporting the symptoms are no longer present, this article may not apply.
Action: For vehicles that meet all of the criteria in the Issue and Model statements, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the APIM.

NOTE: The time required to complete this procedure varies depending on several factors including the number of module software updates required, available internet bandwidth, USB flash drive variability, and the potential that CAN flashing (software update via the DLC with FDRS) may be required. Connect to the internet with an ethernet cable, use a USB 3.2 Gen 2 or higher flash drive. When performing USB software updates, using high speed USB ports on the laptop is recommended for faster file transfer.
most radio/auto manufacturers are having to update the software on their audio systems on a regular basis as the phones we use update their own software and we ask these small in size only computers to do more and more. Older units had to be brought into the dealerships to be updated but the advantage of OTA updates is it should happen seamlessly without any trips in for repair. These connected audio units that are linked to the manufacturer through a cell circuit built into the vehicle tend to do these updates with the car off and are programmed to "wake up" when car is turned off to perform these functions. Some vehicle models have even had dead batteries in the morning due to being "kept up" all night and needed new software to correct that malfunction. KISS is not the word of the day with these vehicles.
Ota info in this update is the apim update to adresss that and updated trailer management
it hit f150s Dec. My 250 recieved it this week while in shop , when tech did test drive it downloaded
but otas will not download if your battery state of charge is below 60%
They are designed not to run battery down
Ford pass may alert you
There is in works to better inform on impending update so you csn schedule and or make sure battery is up
This last update took less thsn 5 minutes to download and update fwiw

Just looked at my Ford Pass app and see that this update was installed on Feb 25th for me. TCU-24.2.5.9
I received all the updates OTA. I've posted in a couple other threads, but this series of updates caused a permanent code in my TCM (Telematics Control Module) that Ford says cannot be fixed by replacing/reprogramming the module and that the code is benign. Regardless, my service shop is going to perform the TSB update for all the modules with the latest to see if it will clear.
some OTA will request to download via wifi if file is large,
but the cell modem is primary means of ford sending data to the vehicle.
