I was putting about 10oz wal-mart 2 stroke TC-w3 oil in every fill up for years which was recommended by a diesel mechanic I knew.
Fast Forward to April 2024 and Then my former "know it all criminal mechanic" told me not to. He also told me to avoid bio-diesel and just use Diesel # 2.

2-stroke or atf won’t hurt anything but an actual lubricity additive like opti-lube XL or Stanadyne Lubricity is better and more cost effective.
