How much is too much?
2011 F-250 SD FX4 6-speed auto 6.2 gasser.
I had the transmission serviced last fall.
I am getting ready to pull my travel trailer soon and was getting a jump on things and noticed the fill stick has fluid above the top mark where it says "don't add"
If I put in the dip stick up to the o-ring, it reads perfect, right to the top of the normal range spread, but if I jam it in and seat it, its over by 3/8th pf an inch it looks.
The fluid is warmed up and the truck level.
I am taking the truck in to get a oil and filter change this week at a different shop that does all my oil changes, they don't do tranny stuff, and the place that did it is over an hour away and I just don't want to even go there.
It shifts fine, the fluid looks perfectly red and clean no smell, etc. but I haven't pulled my trailer since the transmission work where I imagine will put more of a strain on it.
I have never had any issue with it and my odometer stands right about 170k.
Anybody got any advice?
