Plows
I'm loking at buying a new 250 or 350, I'm wondering what a 8ft plow SHOULD cost, the dealers have so many numbers on the stickers, I can't tell.
What should everything cost installed? New England area if you know!
Thanks,

Mine came with the truck new. A 71/2 foot meyers power angle. any bigger and it would not fit in my garage door. The dealer let me have it for $2,000 so they didn't have to remove it. I wasn't looking for a plow but am happy i got it now.
The other thing that I keep hearing is that a plow always messes up the front end on a truck. I don't plan on doing much with it, about 4 driveways for my family, does it really do allot of damage? Or is that an tale thats been around forever?

I had the Fisher 8' Minute Mount 2 system installed with Fishstick control for 3800 and that was the going rate for November, Having made a couple of calls to local installers
I was disappointed that the plow did not come with a cutting edge on it, so you might want to check into that (To save your blade from damage)
If you are getting it from the dealer you will be all set as they have to warranty it if they are putting it on...

The wieght of the plow can weaken your springs and does put more wear on your spindles, hubs, etc, but these are heavy duty trucks and can take it.
If your truck was ordered with the plow package, your springs are made for the wieght of the plow.
Just use common sense when plowing and you should have no problems.
Also when parked, lower the plow to relieve the wieght up front.
I run a front and rear plow and my truck drives perfectly, hardly know there on there as compared to other trucks I have had in the past.
Good luck,,,,,,,,,,,,,Later,,,,,,,,,,,Mark
I would never believe it unless i saw it, I can't believe it would work very well. A 8' Meyer for my truck and a 6' Solotec for my Focus???
