Hello again everyone, I have yet another issue with my 1983 Ford F-250 (351 Windsor)
today my alternator belt snapped, and I’m having a real hard time finding a replacement considering what’s left of the belt is out on the side of the road somewhere.
does anyone know what size belt I’d need? Or any other specific details? Maybe a part number?
it’s the belt that goes from the crank to the alternator, nothing else.
much appreciated yall, thanks again

Just go to the parts store and tell them what you have. They should be able to tell you what you need. They may have a couple of choices depending on what size alternator you have. Just get what they have and bring the one you don't use back.
You could also get rope, move the ALT to the middle of the adjustment or to the smallest belt adjustment?
Run the rope in the pullies getting it as tight as you can and where it overlaps use tape to hold it to that size and cut the rest of the rope off.
Now you should have what belt size you need. Take to the parts store and with what they can look up and your rope belt you should be able to come up with something that will work.
They also have belt sizing tool they can use to measure the rope belt to come up with the size. You would just need to know the belt "V" pitch is all.

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...rive,belt,8900
look on any parts store and enter your truck info and it will spit out what should fit.
such as this rock auto link should if I did it right. looks like they have a couple in stock that should work for you.
At the very least you can get the part number and head to your local parts place with the info in hand.
