Good Evening All, I'm curious how much access I should expect into programming with Forscan on a 2005 Excursion 4 x 4, 6.0 liter? I got Forscan to watch PIDs since my Edge went out and they won't reflash it remotely any more. I can watch all the PIDs I want, plus more. But, after watching some videos I was curious about changing some things. They don't show up like the videos I was watching though. The only real change I could accomplish was tire size and the seatbelt chime. I was kind of looking for "bambi mode" so I can run my fog lights with my brights. Any experience?
I have the Edge Evolution CS. They used to send a reflash online when the screen would black out. Last time, about a year or so ago they said they won't service that unit anymore because the EPA cracked down. I'm now stuck with a 6.0 that's been reflashed to factory specs, at the request of Edge, a controller that won't load any tunes, and a EGR code that is always throwing a CEL. I went with Forscan so I could monitor for fairly inexpensive because any new tuners won't address the EGR code from what I've found.
I did it in an attempt to get use of the tuner back. I was originally told they "reflashed" my tuner and when I went to use it the tuner said it wasn't a stock tune on the truck and needed to be reflashed to stock before the tuner would work. I had it reflashed to stock and attempted to utilize the tuner and it still wouldn't initiate a reprogram from the tuner. I called back and they said they wouldn't provide tech support any further. Looking back I should have just left the aftermarket tune and gotten Forscan or Torque to monitor, but I was trying to utilize what I had. Now I get a CEL on all the time. To my knowledge the EGR code will not affect the way the engine runs, any insight into that?
