This is my second forum I’ve made on here within the last few years.
I’m currently working on a 2006 Ford F-150 King Ranch that originally came with a 5.4L. I have been tasked with the job of swapping a 302 out of an ‘89 f150, so far I have had to pull the cab off to be able to make custom motor mounts, fuel lines, etc, as well as having to replace the dashboard to get rid of the flow through center console design.
I now have the cab back on the frame and the new lariat dashboard installed and am trying to get everything wired up. I connected all the wiring plugs and ground connections that I could find/remember from the checklist I used taking it all apart.
My problem I face now is I have nothing in the can working. No dome lights, no dinging, no headlights, taillights, brake lights, radio, anything. Totally dead.
so far I have tried following the big red central junction box wire from the battery to the junction itself. All the fuses show 12.6vdc, I am even getting 12v at things like the headlight switch, but all the pins appear to be showing 12v even while the switch is unplugged. I’m unsure of what wires are suppose to be ground and which ones are positive. I also noticed that my cigarette lighters are giving off 12v on the shell (ground) of the lighter. While 0v on the positive. I’ve been looking into this for about 2 days before turning to FTE. If anyone has any suggestions on what to look for I would appreciate it. I will also attach some photos of the swap while it is in progress! Comparison of the old dashboard (left) and the new one (right)
What year is the new dashboard? If it's not the same year as the truck wiring differences are to be expected. EVTMs for both are where you will have to start.
Does this truck have PATS?

EVERY truck has PATS except '99 to '07 model year Super Duty trucks.
