We ran these rigs on the ranch until they started putting liners in later in production and never had a problem. no high boy ever had them and somehow we survived.
Oh ok...that's good to know. I think for me they would be a good addition due to the fact I'm up here in the Seattle area (hour drive) so yeah ..we get lots of that liquid sunshine plus the fact I'm 1.5 miles off the pavement. I just don't want that crap stuck in the wheel wells. Just my .02

I know I never saw one with the tub shaped full fender liners, but wondering ..... did they not have the flat splash shield in front of the door?
Just a question, maybe you know ..... I know my fenders have the holes in a mounting lip running up along the inner side for the splash shield mounting, but I don't recall holes in the truck cab for attaching that inner most side / edge of those splash shields, wondering where they attach. Holes in cowl bowls maybe ... or ... do they just lay against them on that inner most edge?
I’ve been sorting through door parts and picking the best hinges for my project truck.
the doors on my 79 cab are bent beyond repair but they are by far the best hinges in the lot due to the splash pans in the front wheel wells.
none of the rollers that hold the door open were even stuck.
unfortunately my splash pans aren’t in very good shape. I’m looking as well and suffering sticker shock at what I find.

Might be "why" sure enough, my '77s are nice still too.
I still have these (below) to install, as well as bright wheel well opening trim (new still), last time I waited into a hot summer. I bought these a really long time ago, was another J C Whittney buy .... as was the 4 pc trim set. I bought them in the '90s to put on as I did then drive the truck much more, even on trips, in all kinds of rain, etc, but that changed with the passage of time .... so I don't "need" them, and that is why I haven't used them yet. It has the original flap types in there .... and new arches .... and lots of bed liner. The trim might protect the wheel well opening edges/lips from road chips, but I'm not sure these are worth my install efforts any longer.
