I have a 19?? Ford medium duty chassis with a 1996 F800 cab. I'm not getting any brake lights. I looked at the pedal and there is 2 spots for wires. Looks like the bottom is the stop light switch and doesn't have a wire going to it. The top does. The top has a red w/black stripe. There is a solid red wire wrapped up with it but someone cut it. Is the solid supposed to go to the stop light switch?
So I marked the pic with arrows.
The red arrow is the red/black.
The blue arrow is ?? Ground? The wire is just hanging.
The green arrow looks to be the stop light switch.
My 93 manual shows the red/black wire runs from the brake light switch to the turn signal switch in the steering column
There should be a red wire that is hot with the key on connected to the other terminal on the brake light switch where that black wire is connected
The red wire runs from #2 fuse (15 amp) to a brake light relay taped the the harness behind the instrument panel and down to the brake light switch
The single stud switches are for the low air pressure warning light and buzzer
The speed o meter and tach are simple setups, 90% of the issues with those components are the speed sensors or the wires they connect to
The transmission speed sensor is located in the tail housing of the transmission
The tach sensor is located in the flywheel housing usually near the bottom, due to exposure to the elements it’s common to find a wire broke near the sensor. These are common universal sensors that can be purchased at most any big truck dealer or parts supplier.
