2001 V10 Fuel vent
Hi there! I'm sorry if we've already discussed and solved this issue. I have the dreaded fuel vent problem and have to spend 30 minutes trickling gas in every time I need to fill up, which us V10 guys know, is pretty much always. Haha. I've read forums and have found some solutions, but mine hasn't been solved. I dropped the tank over the weekend, tested all the lines and the vapor canister. (Mine is a 2001 and the canister is in the engine bay, not above the spare tire). I can blow through all the lines just fine, and the vapor canister breathes perfectly as well. I've decided that the problem is the actual vents which are glued/plastic welded to the composite gas tank. I cannot simply replace them. I'm reading that I have to replace the entire tank! Say it ain't so! Has anyone been able to fix or somehow replace the two vents on top of the gas tank? Thanks in advance! And sorry if this has been discussed. I can get tank vents (F65Z 9B593-DA) however the catalog states chassis cab only. I have no way to verify if they'll work on a regular truck tank. I have sold them in the past and the pre 05 catalog is notoriously trash and unreliable so it could be something to look into. They run 55.78 through us. Like I said I cannot guarantee they will work.
