hey guys i recently just did a transmission swap i took out the old np435 and put a new 4wd version np435 in the truck. i have a f100 so i just did the np205 swap in. I went to put my shifter back in the truck and i noticed those pins that retain the shifter are different. could i swap those pins out? i know you can take the top cover off np435s but i did that on my old tranny and it was just a mess and wasn’t easy so that’s why i’m kinda avoiding it.
When you remove the top cover and put it back on the transmission must be in neutral or you fight to get the cover off and you will never get it back on.
You will need to move the slip rings in the trans to get it in neutral and get the cover in neutral to get it back on.
I dont know of the pins you are talking about got a picture of them?
It could be they were worn and had play so a larger pin was installed to take the play out?
