Cruise controll donors for my truck?

I want to add cruise control to my '79 F250.
My questions are, what years will work when I am looking for a donor vehicle? Will the parts off a car work? What are the parts I will need to take from the donor should I find the right one? I want it to look like factory installed when I am done.

I don't think a car system will work. You will need the steering wheel with horn buttons, turn signal switch, wiring harness, control box, brake pedal, vacuum brake booster, brake mounted switch, throttle servo, vacuum reservoir (looks like a coffe can), vacuum check valve.

I did it myself and it does work and is not difficult to install. Just take this list with you when you go to the salvage yard.

Thanks 76 and Mil1ion. I guess I should have also said I have a 4 speed trany. In 79 I bought a new Mustang that had a manual trany and cruise. It had a switch on the clutch to kill the cruise when it was pushed in.
Will the parts from a newer Bronco or truck work? Mainly the stearing wheel and wiring? I don't mind if the stearing wheel is not from a 79, as long as it is from a Ford. I have considered an after market add on, but don't like the looks and have never heard good reports on them.

I'm thinking no.

Because the ignition is on the newer columns.

You could always look in a Haynes manual for the 80's truck to see if the wiring diagrams are the same.
