Hi Guys!
I was wondering if anyone new what didderent parts were needed to convert my fabtech 5.5 lift to the 8 inch? And who sells 1 peice driveshafts or aftermarket drive shafts for a 2002 F-350PSD Crewcab? Any info if you could please. Oh what is the tech info on lengthening the front shaft.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-Jan-03 AT 03:44 PM (EST)]the spring hangers change your front differential angle which is not good i heard do to vibration.

You could put the 3.5" fabtech hangers in front or either the EDGE 3" or 4.5" hanger and shackle.
For the rear you probably already have a good size block so try to find a larger spring and smaller block combo to level off your ride depending on what size hanger you choose. Might also want to consider crossover steering when going over 8". It will reduce bumpsteer, help you retain your turning radius, and reduce unneccesary stress on the sector shaft of your steering box
And

www.4xshaft.com

You could also try a local shop near you.
Any info if you could please.

Depends on what size lift you end up with. Easiest to measure after the lift is done IMO. You could lengthen or get an aftermarket one, it's up to you.

Max. lift w/o changing angle is 12", of course if you have the time and money to cut and rotate your front pinion it will benefit you.
MrRottnDog is the the process of upgrading the 5.5" fabtech on his X, hopefully he'll let you know what parts he's using.
I would think the fabtech 3.5 hangers or the edge 3" hanger kit in the front and adjustable trac bar. In the rear if you did not get the fabtech rear leaf springs in the 5.5" kit then get the fabtech 8" leafs for the rear.
what about my sway bar end links? Can i use the ones from the 5.5 fab kit i have or shoul i get new ones? Where can i buy the cross over steering kit or get info on it?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-Jan-03 AT 04:48 PM (EST)]I would think you'd need new sway bar links but I'm not familiar with the fabtech kits.
you can get the crossover steering and the trac bar and relocation brackets from ORU www.offroadunlimited.com
or www.dynatrac.com offers a hub and steering correction kit for the SDs but it costs $$$$ and I hear varying opinions of if its worth the money.
thats some nice stuff and you guys have sent me some awesome links. Thanks! I will probably go through arizona driveline for a 1 peice rear shaft if this thing vibes on me. I drice this thing on the highway a lot and wheelin on the weekends. I am calling fabtech tommorow. one more thing. It sure looks like the fabtech leaf springs are identicle to the edge lift springs? What do you think?

I think the fabtech and Edge springs are close. I believe Edge guarantee's their springs to never sag. If there is a great difference in cost and that is a primary issue I would probably go with the fabtechs!
Motoxman, RE your swaybar links. On the front you can put the upper mount below the frame and reuse the existing links. For the rear you will need new ones. Donahoe and Skyjacker are 2 companies that sell longer sway bar links.
Hope this helps! Keith.
I have a bunch of parts for sale - https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gallery/displayalbum.php?&userid=3445&albumid=2685
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 04-Jan-03 AT 09:16 PM (EST)]Cool! I have thought about the gearing i have also. I have 3.73`s with the diesel and automatic. right now i really like the gear ratio`s from going to 35`s. My rpm with 35`s at 70 mph is 1800 rpm. I dont realy tow that often except a small trailer with 2 dirtbikes. What i am getting at is I dont want to have to regear with the 8 inch fab and 38`s! So will 36`s look too small for a 8 inch fabtech lift? Please give me your guys opinions as everyone is so helpful in this forum.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 04-Jan-03 AT 09:22 PM (EST)]No, 36" tires on 8" looks good IMO. Anyway I have heard that the fabtech 8" springs only give 7" of lift due to the weight of the PSD.
Hope this helps.
Check out MrRottnDog's gallery, he has 36" on 5.5" suspension and 3" body lift I think
