Coolant Leak

Alright ladies and gents, is there supposed to be an o-ring inside this hose at the connection? If so, can somebody please give me the part number? From the research I’ve done there’s supposed to be one, but I’ve seen a ton of different part numbers. I replaced the drivers side hose/oil cooler lines and noticed when I took that connection apart there was no o-ring there. I bought an o-ring assuming it needed one, but the one I bought is way too small. I’m gonna be replacing the passenger side hose as I still have a coolant leak, but I’m almost positive it’s coming from that connection. These are the lower coolant hoses from a 2015 F-350 with the 6.2 gas engine. Let me know if y’all need anymore info.

I just looked at the diagram on Ford's genuine parts website and there does show to be a few different O-rings if you click on the radiator and associated parts. I see the hose for about $127. I always figured they were a one piece design but I don't know. Perhaps they do have an O-ring in them. But, I don't know which one it would be. The lower hose seal is part # BC3Z-8590-K. In the description they also call it the "By-Pass hose seal".

But then the upper hose seal is part # BC3Z- 8590-PA. But in the description it says "Lower Hose Seal".

To me, the lower hose seal/o-ring actually looks smaller and thicker than what would likely fit in the hose you're showing and the "upper" seal/0-ring actually looks a little thinner and larger like it would be the one that would go in the hose you're talking about. Perhaps it's a stupid misprint on their parts website. I'm sure it happens a lot. I wish they would put the actual dimensions in the description so at least that would help. I understand it wouldn't help if they were putting in incorrect information for the different seals but at least maybe we could try to figure it out if they have it backwards. I wonder if that's what's going on.

So, it took a lot more research, but I finally found out there is a seal in that connection. See, that’s what I thought was that the lower hose seal would be the one I would need and on a whim I bought it assuming the image was wrong and seeing as how I’d only be out a couple bucks if it didn’t work. Well needless to say it was the wrong size as you stated. I found the “upper hose seal” P/N that you referenced and crossed it on a couple different parts websites and it seemed like it would work so I went to a parts store and bought one. While I was there I asked the guy at the counter if he had a coolant hose seal kit for my truck and of the ones that size they seemed to match the one from that upper hose seal P/N that I cross referenced.

To beat it all, once I got back home I realized the hose I had already bought had the seals in it and I just straight up missed them. Talk about feeling like an idiot. I didn’t take the seals out that came in the hose as I didn’t wanna take a chance at tearing them, but it looks like that upper hose seal P/N is the correct one. The one thing I did notice though, was there seemed to be only a couple different sizes other than the drain plug seal. It’s too bad that there isn’t better descriptions for those little things like that.
