I've been charging my batteries separately just to be safe, probably not required? I'm checking CCA every soft often as well which requires you to disconnect both.
I've got one Noco Genius 3500 but after I got the Odyssey Extremes and read that Enersys didn't like their charging algorithm for the Odysseys, I went with CTEK - I use a MUS 25000 on the diesel (I alternate which battery I hook it to, even with all of Jack's ground updates) and a MUS 4.3 on the Jeep (it has an Extreme) and just bought a MXS 5.0 for the F150 and plan to get another one of those for the soon to come P-car... I have quite a few BateryMinders and Battery Tenders I use on flooded lead acid batteries - oddly the only batteries I've had go south on me were on either a small (.8a) Battery Tender or a 1.5A Battery Minder - hmmm, maybe I should get more CTEKs
Odyssey has some specific ideas about the charging process. Noco was not on their approved list last I looked. The NOCO works well on my X2Power AGM's, so not sure what the difference is.
Thank you Mark, and Dan for posting that, I’d have not known otherwise. When I spoke to Odyssey Canada, they did not mention any specific brand. They only mentioned get one specifically for AGM. My old charger has an AGM setting, but I don’t see any difference when using it, it’s older and I’d like a new one.
FYI. - There seems to have been some changes in Odysee battery Canada. Their website is not working.
Continental Battery Systems and Great Northern Batteries have merged. GNB was the distributor, they shipped my batts to me. https://www.gnbsystems.com/index.php
They list Noco chargers on their site.
I’ll call them next week, see what they say / recommend.
odysseybattery.com - USA website (main web site) has info on chargers, recommendations, and approved list.
odysseybattery.ca - Canadian web site does (did) not have any of this info. It’s not working as of right now.
