Anything can fail (especially in these days of low-cost-overseas products). Watchfulness is VERY important!

The watchfulness needs to begin when you are deciding where to buy your charger from!!

CTEK charger here, only had about 1-year but it's great as I've got both regular and AGM batteries to use.
Amazon Amazon

I've been charging my batteries separately just to be safe, probably not required? I'm checking CCA every soft often as well which requires you to disconnect both.

Just keep an eye on it when it tries to go to maintenance mode. Mine was fine the first few months.... then, not so much.

I've got one Noco Genius 3500 but after I got the Odyssey Extremes and read that Enersys didn't like their charging algorithm for the Odysseys, I went with CTEK - I use a MUS 25000 on the diesel (I alternate which battery I hook it to, even with all of Jack's ground updates) and a MUS 4.3 on the Jeep (it has an Extreme) and just bought a MXS 5.0 for the F150 and plan to get another one of those for the soon to come P-car... I have quite a few BateryMinders and Battery Tenders I use on flooded lead acid batteries - oddly the only batteries I've had go south on me were on either a small (.8a) Battery Tender or a 1.5A Battery Minder - hmmm, maybe I should get more CTEKs

I’m about to buy a new charger. I was going to pick up the Noco genius 10. Do they not work with Odysee batteries??

CTEK also has one, have to order it. MUS 4.3 Polar. For cold temps, I’ve considered this as well.

Noco is local for me to pick up and return if needed, CTEK I’d have to order.

Im not looking to mount anything, it will be used on a few different (other brand) AGM batteries as well.

Odyssey has some specific ideas about the charging process. Noco was not on their approved list last I looked. The NOCO works well on my X2Power AGM's, so not sure what the difference is.

Thank you Mark, and Dan for posting that, I’d have not known otherwise. When I spoke to Odyssey Canada, they did not mention any specific brand. They only mentioned get one specifically for AGM. My old charger has an AGM setting, but I don’t see any difference when using it, it’s older and I’d like a new one.

FYI. - There seems to have been some changes in Odysee battery Canada. Their website is not working.

Continental Battery Systems and Great Northern Batteries have merged. GNB was the distributor, they shipped my batts to me.

They list Noco chargers on their site.

I’ll call them next week, see what they say / recommend.

Glad I saw this thread, it’s never simple..

It isn't as simple as it should be, that's for sure.

I went w/ X2Power because of price and the charger question. Odyssey batteries are sure good though!

Just a follow up:

odysseybattery.com - USA website (main web site) has info on chargers, recommendations, and approved list.
odysseybattery.ca - Canadian web site does (did) not have any of this info. It’s not working as of right now.

Old approval list found in a Google search:
https://www.odysseybattery.com/wp-co...V_chargers.pdf

Web site literature page, with current approval lists, recommendations, etc.

Huh - CTEK isn't on their current list of approved 12V chargers.

Yeah, I noticed that. I’ll call Odyssey direct and GNB next week, I’ll post up what they say.

Yeah, I only saw one under 24V - I wonder if it is because they now have a line of their own chargers? (perhaps rebranded CTEK!)

LOL - I guess they just forgot to re-brand the 24V one! Looking at the old list they had the 12V Cetek "Snowflake", but no longer.
