Well I think I made a mistake and without knowing the year I pulled an Hvac box out of a 93 F250 with a 5.8.
I've been reading some a/c things changed with the 92-93 and 94-97.
Is the hvac box at least the same with them all? 🤞
I cannot recall a new comp purchased today that has mineral oil in it unless NOS. The GPD brand (I think) for my '92 4.9 had PAG or whatever. So yes you are correct on that aspect to verify oil.
So, physically the comps are the same until you go back to my '88 with the FS6 then in '89 changed to the newer style.
Went through all the examining of stuff due to running parallel flow condensers on my older rides (pal's '89 too) and have a '97 F250 evap box on shelf.

In 1994 the 7.5 and 4.9 compressors changed the pulley size of the ac compressor
Been installing this a/c components. Ran into two snags so far. A friend had a truck with a 7.5 motor, gave me a compressor of course the pulley is too big. Not sure if you can swap the pulleys with a smaller one.
Also my line to the back of the compressor doesn't have the electrical connection I assume that's for the high side cut out..... hopefully its ok. Obviously have the plug for the compressor itself.
Yes, you can swap the pulleys and field coils
The new Ford compressors come bare with no clutch
You have to buy the pulley, field coil and clutch hub separately
High side cut out switch screws onto the back of compressor's line set. Look at an ETM to see if your '93 had this. '96 has it and my '92 does not.
Current new production compressors use same pulley. I would not want a used FS10 unless for mockup only.
Ok my problem was I couldn't get the new serpentine belt to go on because the pulley was too big. So if I buy one that says it works with the 4.9, 5.0, 5.8 I should receive the smaller pulley right? But if I buy one that says it works for the 4.9 and 7.5 I'll be back in the same boat with the bigger pulley I would assume?

Im not sure if the 4.9 and 7.5 had the same pulley before the 94 changeover I mentioned as the 5.8 or 5.0
