Just bought this truck 3 weeks ago. I've put 900 wonderful miles on her. Last night as I was leaving work, I was driving about 15 mph when the power completely went out, we're talking lights, radio -- whole nine yards. The power went out for less than 1 second, then kicked back in -- it seemed to pump extra fuel - at which time, the truck actually jumped about 2 mph. Scared the crap outta me. It did it about 3 times going home. I took it to the dealer this morning... seems like some X Files crap going on. Anybody have a bizarre experience like this or have any ideas?
Wiring Harness Chafing:
Some 03/04 trucks with the 6.0 may exhibit a crank/no start, rough running, misfire, buck/jerk or lack of power. This may be due to the FICM harness chafing on a valve cover stud near the
FICM. Other potential locations for chafing are where the harness routes past the EBP sensor, the idler on the driver side of the engine and the glow plug control module bracket on the passenger side of the engine. REroute and repair the harness as necessary. Broacast Message 0918.
Well.. I got the truck back from the dealer. They replaced something with the fuse panel. The paperwork, nor the service guy offered up much in the way of details as to what actually caused the problem etc. I'll wait and see if it happens again. Thanks for the posts.
