no brakes!!!!!!
I built this 20' goosneck trailer out of my retired 69 dually. how do i get the hydraulic brakes working for me without buying one of them 500 dollar electric to hydraulic converter deals? Im thinking of mounting a master cylinder on the goosneck about 6'' above where it goes down on the ball. cutting the pipe that goes down on the ball and rigging it so that when i hit my brakes it slides the pipe to engage the cylinder then using two big springs to keep the brakes from engaging when i dont want them to.
what do you all think?
As for the problem at hand, I bet you will have more invested in designing one than you would in buying an electric/hydraulic actuator and the electric/hydraulic would have the advantage of your being able to activate it alone if the need arises. I would bet there is a reason there are no gooseneck surge brakes available.
